MAIN PROPERTIES AND field of application  

It is a fine black powder, insoluble in water, alkalis, nitric and sulphuric acids. Soluble in hydrochloric acid at the heating. At the temperature above 4500 C it begins to decompose with oxygen extraction. It does not burn and does not generate explosive mixtures with air, oxygen and other substances. 

CMD is used for production of chemical current sources of lithium-manganese system (grade A) and zinc-manganese system with wide application (grade B).

 

Distinctive features of the product in comparison with electrolytic manganese dioxide are as follows:

  • increased packed density; 

  • higher coefficient of usage at a “flashlight” mode of current sources discharge. 

In addition chemical manganese dioxide can be used in the production of ferrites, magnetites, thermistors, as well as for manufacturing of hopcalite cartridge adsorbents.

Chemical manganese dioxide is packed in inside-varnished steel barrels, GOST 5044-79 type A, execution A2, with 25 dm3 volume, cardboard tamped barrels, GOST 17065-77, type I, II, with 25 dm3 volume, and hermetically tied or sealed paper sacks with polyethylene inserts, GOST 2226-88, types BMP, VMP, PM. Net weight – 40 kg.
